A Bible-beating zealot, a drunk, an invalid, an embittered idealist – lock them all in an empty room together for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and what do you get? The Rubber Room, where suspended NYC teachers are sent to await trial. This dark comedy explores day-to-day life in one of these "temporary detainment centers," where teachers accused of anything from sexual harassment to incompetence struggle to pass the time, get their lives back on track and keep from strangling each other.
